As we head into a new year, we’d like to take a look back at all that happened for Porrelli in 2017. We had a very busy year, making it even easier to get your hands on your favourite flavours by launching two new flavours into Asda supermarkets – Belgian Chocolate and Mint Choc Chip.
In February we were delighted to win two awards at the National Ice Cream Awards in Harrogate – we won The Silver Challenge Cup in the 1st Sorbet Class for our delicious Mango sorbet flavour, and a bronze medal in the Dairy Ice Cream Continuous Class.
We attended lots of events, such as the Italian Awards and the Royal Highland Show, and sponsored numerous awards too – the Scottish Entertainment Awards, Women of Influence Awards and the very first Prestige Hotel Awards, as well as ladies lunches for well deserved charities like The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice and Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland.
During the summer we delighted workplaces up and down the country, from Ayr, Edinburgh Glasgow and Dundee with free ice cream from our ‘nominate your workplace’ competition in partnership with STV2. We may not have had a spectacular summer weather wise but we hope our ice cream brightened up a few days!
Our ever popular Porrelli ice cream cart for hire was featured in wedding magazine Tie the Knot Scotland in May, inspiring more brides-to-be to treat their guests to some luxury Italian ice cream on their special day. And we were teacher’s pet when we handed out ice cream to the pupils at Williamsburgh Primary School!
