It’s Coffee Time: Affogato Recipe

If a dessert had to be named easiest dessert on earth’ it would most likely be the Affogato. This Italian favourite dessert is world-famous and is served in restaurants and cafés around the globe. With only two ingredients and options to fancy it up however you like, the Affogato only takes a few minutes to prepare and makes an excellent and light dessert to enjoy, especially after a meal.  

All you need is: 

-1 or 2 scoops Porrelli Traditional Vanilla ice cream 

-1 espresso shot (hot) 

 Scoop 1 or 2 scoops of our Traditional Vanilla ice cream and place them into a cup or glass. Pour the espresso shots over the ice cream and enjoy!  

 This dessert is perfect for coffee amateurs with a sweet tooth, but is also a great dessert for people who are not really coffee drinkers, as the bitter taste of coffee is muted with the sweetness of ice cream.  

Although the base recipe only consists of two ingredients, the Affogato can be complimented with the toppings of your choice! We recommend crushed almonds or dark chocolate chips. You can also add a slight drizzle of caramel syrup for an extra touch of sweetness or even add some whipped cream, simply top it the way you like!
